The white-throated dipper (cinclus cinclus) is a passerine bird in the cinclidae family.

Description Edit

It measures about 18 cm in lenght. its plumage is brown, its bill is black, its feet are dark gray and its throat is purely white.

Behavior Edit

The dipper is the only European bird able to walk underwater. It lives in mountain streams with clean water and nests in ravines in rocks next to the water. It feeds on small aquatic insects and worms, and catches its food by walking underwater or swimming.
