The Osprey (pandion haliaetus) is a bird of prey found in Europe and North America. It is the only member in the family Pandionidae. It is bigger than a Buzzard, but smaller than an Eagle; more precisely, it is 60cm long and has a wingspan of 1,8 metres. Its diet consists only of fish, infact, ospreys have very curved talons and scaly feet, perfect to grab slippery fish and block them. Bald eagles, gulls and other opportunist birds often chase ospreys to steal away their prey. Ospreys build very big nests of twigs, next to rivers or lakes where they fish.
