The Superciliaried Hemispingus (Thlypopsis superciliaris) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae (Tanager) family.
Description[]
It is a 13-14 cm long songbird with grey-green upperparts and yellow or whitish underparts. It has a very visible white supercilium from which its name is derived. There is a lot of variation in colouration across the bird's range. For example, birds in central and northern Peru have a grey back and a whitish belly. Birds in Venezuela have a yellow supercilium.
Behaviour[]
The Superciliated Hemispingus eats small invertebrates, such as insects and spiders. It breeds from February to July and does not migrate.
Distribution and Habitat[]
It is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and degraded former forest.
